The development of good character in children requires the efforts of both home and school. With this goal in mind, Musselman High School would like to present:
Watch Your M's and A's
The Musselman Way
A real Appleman demonstrates:
- RESPECT- For themselves, the school, adults, and classmates
- Good grades, behavior, and attitude
- Work in class and complete homework assignments
- Does not participate in fighting, verbal taunting, or teasing
- Responsibility- Accountability for their actions
- Attend school regularly
- Complete work on time
- Caring-Treats all others with kindness and respect.
- Keep their school neat and clean
- Justice- Settles problems in non-violent manner
- Know the facts
- Don't repeat rumors or untruths about others
- Fairness- Refrains from making decisions or judgements until they have all the facts.
- Think before they speak
- Talk out their differences
- Don't put down other individuals, teams, or schools
- Trustworthiness-Honesty. Even when it is not the easiest thing to do.
- Do their own work
- Work to the best of their ability
- Do not bother the possessions of others
School Rules:
- Be polite and say "please" and "thank you".
- Threatening or physically assaulting an administrator, teacher,or other school staff personnel will not be tolerated.
- Do not talk while the teacher or another student is talking.
- The use of profanity is prohibited.
- Always walk on the right side of the hallway and up or down the right side of the staircases.
- Do not run in the halls.
- Public display of affection is limited to holding hands.
- Undergarments are to be covered.
- No clothing advertising drugs, alcohol, profanity, tobacco, or violence is permitted.
- Clothing must be appropriate length and looseness so it is not a distraction to others.
- Hats are not to be worn inside the building including the auditorium.
- The use of tobacco, alcohol, drugs, or drug look-alikes in any form is strictly prohibited.
- Skipping class is prohibited.
- Fighting will not be tolerated.
- Vandalism will not be tolerated.
- The following activities are expressly prohibited at school:gambling, being, being in an off-limits area, the carrying of ammunition of any kind, cigarette lighters, matches, fire crackers, noise makers, and any other dangerous items.
- Clothing that exposes a bare midriff is not permitted. Shoulders must be covered.
- Halter tops and tube tops are not permitted unless they are covered by another garment.
Auditorium Rules:
- Food and drinks are not permitted in the auditorium.
- Do not enter or leave the auditorium during a performance- wait until intermission.
Classroom Rules:
- No food or drinks permitted outside the cafeteria.
- Do not speak while the teacher is speaking.
- Raise your hand when you have a question or a thought you would like to share.
- Always use appropriate language when speaking.
- Be on time for class.
- Bring the needed materials for your class.
- Treat substitutes with respect.
- The teacher dismisses the class- not the bell.
- Personal grooming is not to be done during class.
Gymnasium Rules:
- Absolutely no food, drinks, or gum permitted in the gym.
- Do not stand on the bleacher seats.
- No inappropriate yelling during games.
- Street shoes are not to be worn on the gym floor.
- No out passes. Once you enter, you are not permitted to leave. If you do leave, you will have to pay to reenter.
- Stand for the school fight song.
- Demonstrate appropriate behavior during the playing of the National Anthem.
